About Gillian


Gillian started sewing when she was five years old - taught by her mother.


She is an experienced costume historian who has been studying and re-creating replica items for over twenty years, working closely with local museums.

Having visited most of the major costume collections in the country and undertaken extensive research, Gillian makes exquisite replica costumes and has been commissioned by several prestigious museums including the Castle Museum in York, the National Railway Museum, Beningbrough Hall, the Bowes Museum, and Osborne House, the home of Queen Victoria, where she portrayed the young Victoria for English Heritage.


She also has an extensive collection of original period items and fashion plates ranging from the Regency to the 1950s.
